I’d be remiss if I didn’t take the opportunity to wish Holly Gary a very Happy Birthday today. Happy #22!
Of course, in our house, we’ve always noted the convergence of her birthday with today’s other big milestone (NO…Not March Madness)…St. Patrick’s Day. Because of the timing of her birthday, Holly’s parties have been characterized by a collection of shamrocks, four leaf clovers, green decorations and yummy cakes with similar themes (dating back to the first one).

I remember her “Sweet 16” party was quite an affair. The house was packed that night (Paul and I ducked out and went to get a burger, watch some sports, do guy stuff and escape the pajama party!).
Sometimes, her birthdays coincided with family roadtrips for Spring Break. For example, there were a couple trips to Memphis. During another year, we relaxed in Savannah and a very cold day on the beach at Hilton Head.
This year, of course, her ‘Spring Break’ trip, just completed, was the one I wrote about last week. Memorable stuff.
And today, she’ll enjoy a memorable birthday party with an international flavor. Adding to the fun is that one of her best friends, Jocelyn, has made the trek to France to do a little sightseeing and help mark the occasion.
I’m sure it will be a wonderful event!
So, as I close, let me take this opportunity to say:
Happy Birthday Holly.
Oh, and Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Love, Mom and Dad
JG
