All around, there are sure signs that fall is in the air.
The beautiful warm sunny days, cool nights and foggy mornings definitely give it away. But, if the elements of our daily forecasts aren’t enough, all you have to do is look at a store near you and you’ll find some sort of display that confirms the season.

I love fall; who doesn’t love fall? The weather is perfect. Activities abound. For many reasons you can argue it is the greatest season of them all.
If you are a foodie, think of all the tasty treats available to you in October. And that’s before you even get to Halloween.
Just the other day, one of my good friends (and a loyal Coach Jeff reader) posted some yummy pumpkin-related recipes on-line. After reading her recipes, I might have suggested to Lisa that maybe it was time for another one of her batches of her aromatic loaves of pumpkin bread.
If you are a sports fan, this season has it all. Football is in full swing; hockey just started. And, MLB is front and center with postseason baseball action.
And who doesn’t love the feeling of sitting out at your closest high school and enjoying Friday Night Lights. If you are an HVA fan or an FHS supporter, tomorrow night you’ll be able to enjoy the first football meeting between the two neighbors.
Fall festivals and events abound this time of year, as well. Driving by Farragut Primary School this evening, I saw a sign touting the school’s annual FUNdraiser a week from Saturday. I remember when Paul was an FPSer, we would routinely attend the event. Now, a new generation of dolphins get the chance to win cakes, toss rings and purchase yummy foodstuffs.
And if you’re not close to Farragut Primary, I’m sure you could find numerous fall festivals, corn mazes or haunted houses near you.
It’s a fun time to go for hikes or hayrides, bob for apples or engage in whatever your favorite autumn activity may be. If the early October forecast is an indication, this year is going to be a great one.
