Everywhere you go, it seems, you can find logo items for America 250. As we count down to the big day, it doesn't take a lot of effort to find America 250 swag.

Indeed, much as was the case with America's Bicentennial, you can find America 250 branding everywhere. Even the United States Postal Service has gotten into the act. Check out the current postmarks!
As the week rolls on, there will be bunting and flags everywhere. A number of patriotic events will dot the calendar. And in their own unique ways, average folks will make plans to celebrate a special 4th of July. After all, you only turn 250 once!
There will be parades, back yard barbecues, concerts, fireworks displays and the like. Two of my favorite pastimes - baseball and ham radio - will also get into the act.
For instance, this past weekend, K4KYN participated in the ARRL Field Day event. Over the course of two days, I talked to other operators (using CW or telegraph) in 45 of our 50 states. And, in so doing, I racked up exactly 250 logbook entries. Not 249. Not 251. I stopped at 250.
Seemed fitting - a nice prelude to the week ahead!
If you're not feeling in the spirit just yet, there's time. Go grab a snack cake, pick up your favorite flavored latte and pour into your America 250 tumbler and celebrate away.
