Tourney On the Hill

I’ve written on many occasions about the special times I had as a baseball coach and a league official for Farragut Baseball, Inc.

I always felt there was a special element of teamwork “On the Hill.”

These days, a new generation of coaches and commissioners are experiencing that special feeling. This weekend, they’re all coming together to produce a tournament with results more important than wins and losses.

FB, Inc. is hosting the Parker Smith Pre-season Benefit Tournament March 30-April 1. Parker is an alum of FB, Inc. He played “On the Hill” for 10 years.

All proceeds from the tournament will be going to the Smith family to cover medical costs resulting from a serious medical condition. You can read more details on the Farragut Baseball, Inc. website and also on the WVLT website.

I know people have busy schedules but if you are looking for something entertaining to do this weekend, there will be some great baseball games “On the Hill.” Gate fees are quite reasonable. You’ll get to see some competitive baseball, cheer on some future stars AND help a great cause at the same time.

“Bring your wallet; bring your purse!” is the mantra for this tournament.

If you are looking to do some volunteerism, I am sure, also, they will be happy to put you to work.
