Sleep
Sleep tonight
And may your dreams
Be realized
Today is MLK Day, the holiday observed on the third Monday of January in honor of The Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. His actual birthday, the 15th, was yesterday. Dr. King would’ve been 82 today.
And if Dr. King would’ve lived, what would he think of our world today?
In many ways, we’ve made tremendous progress. But, in other ways, there is much work to be done. Our political system struggles against gridlock and, in this election year, we’re hungry for good, positive change.
If one can say we’re at peace in the world, it’s a shaky peace at best. There are still people out there who hate us. And meanwhile, at home, the economy is still tentative.
Still, there’s a lot more love in the world now than there is hate. That is a very good thing.
