One week from tonight, the curtain goes up on Farragut High School Drama’s production of “Cyrano de Bergerac,” written by Edmond Rostand and adapted by Erna Kruckemeyer.
Opening night culminates weeks of work by the actors, technical crew and the director, FHS theatre teacher Lea McMahan. The past two Saturdays, the students and some volunteers have been on hand to do much of the prep work to get ready for the show such as assembling, ironing and trying on costumes, painting the stage, building set pieces and hanging the large black screens that will assist in this production.
Meanwhile, the cast and crew have been working after school nearly every day since the school year began back in August to hone every fine detail. Now, they’re almost ready.
You probably know the Cyrano story very well by now. If you don’t, you should come to the Wells Auditorium on the FHS campus next week and find out. In fact, even if you do know the story – especially if you know the story – you should also come.
The play will be held October 20-22 at 7:30 p.m., and also on Sunday October 23 at 3 p.m., in the Wells Auditorium on the Farragut High School Campus.
