Friday’s CTE Goes Live event was wonderful. Market Square Mall was buzzing on a beautiful spring night with lots of young people running around full of energy.
I was pleased that Paul had tons of support - from both sides of the family as well as from a number of great friends.
He was very happy with his performance. He bounded onto stage with a ton of energy. He made an immediate connection with the audience. Then, he nailed his song.
We were proud of him and he was pleased with the way things turned out. At the end of the evening, he wasn’t all that disappointed that he wasn’t named the winner of this year’s “CTE Goes Live.” Besides, he has had plenty of his own victories during this junior year @ FHS.
Congratulations to Kelsey Northern (GIBBS05) who was named the winner. She did a wonderful job.
And congratulations, also, to all the other performers. Really, each and every one did a great job.
Also, a ‘shout out’ to Coach Coatney and the CTE team. They did a great job and put on a professional, first class event.
The music sounded great, the weather was perfect, the show came off without a hitch (or glitch). And most importantly, 15 high school students from across the county came together. They bonded. They became friends. They will probably remain friends long after the last note of the show has faded.
That’s the best kind of prize of all!
